Semis against Djokovic

09.09.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger reached his eighth consecutive US Open semi-final by beating Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 last night in a match delayed about 90 minutes by rain in the first set. He will now meet world number one, Novak Djokovic, in Saturday's semi-final.

Roger's main two weapons in the night session were his serve (72 percent of first serves in) and his game at the net. "I played great," he said. "I'm very happy with the way I'm playing, the way I'm moving and I'm enjoying myself on the court."
Roger showed a terrific match, even thoug at 2-2 in the third set, Tsonga got a chance to break. But Roger saved that when Tsonga sent a lob wide. From there, Roger was at his best, broking in the next-to-last game when Tsonga double-faulted.

Now our champ faces top-seeded Novak Djokovic in the US Open semi-finals, the fourth straight year they will face off in New York. Roger holds a 3-1 edge. In their most recent head-to-head meeting, in this year's French Open semi-finals, Roger ended Djokovic's 43-match winning streak.

Whatever, being a fellow countryman doesn't save you from burning inside, hence, suggesting the best thing for him (retirement). I cannot stomach such a depressing defeat. I prefer to see him away from tennis court so that the game loses its beauty but remember everyone would see what Roger was up to. Now i say he is undoing his previous achievemnts

Roger is the GOAT and he should live by those standards anything less than that is insulting for himself and what happened today is way below his standard so from my point of view he has two options:

1) Get his head fixed (I would love this because the majors are gonna keep coming)
or
2) Retire (It would be one of the saddest moments of my entire life, but Roger deserves only the best of the best)

ACtually, his schedule is one of the best planned. E.g Nadal put oo many matches and now what he has with his legs? Roger hasn't such troubles.

You are from the same country with Federer, how can talk like that, Federer was better than Djokovic, Djokovic was too lucky in this fucking match.

you ruined my weekend fed. HERE'S MY BEST ADVICE. WHEN YOU DO YOUR NEXT YEAR SCHEDULE DO NOT PLAY SO MANY TOURNAMENTS. FOCUS ON GRAND SLAMS REST A LOT LIKE SAMPRAS, ONLY PLAY SOME MASTERS 1000 AND GRAND SLAM.
I cannot believe you lost, the match was in your hands to win, but you know what, i still love you and i can imagin how you must be feeling. this is the toughest lost of your career but do not give up, we love you and will keep supporting you. be strong and get over this lost, let's move on!

Guyz, if you played tennis, you 'd know that mental side is the hardest to overcome. But when you haven't had any contact with tennis rocket then stop saying like it is not a big deal to deal with mind. I'm curious, would you win US open havin 40-15, knowing that if you don't hit ball properly you can lose the chance and lost 2 weeks of hard play? I'ts not that easy! Poor people, you don't know what is a stress on court!
