Semis against Djokovic

Roger reached his eighth consecutive US Open semi-final by beating Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-4, 6-3, 6-3 last night in a match delayed about 90 minutes by rain in the first set. He will now meet world number one, Novak Djokovic, in Saturday's semi-final.


Roger's main two weapons in the night session were his serve (72 percent of first serves in) and his game at the net. "I played great," he said. "I'm very happy with the way I'm playing, the way I'm moving and I'm enjoying myself on the court."
Roger showed a terrific match, even thoug at 2-2 in the third set, Tsonga got a chance to break. But Roger saved that when Tsonga sent a lob wide. From there, Roger was at his best, broking in the next-to-last game when Tsonga double-faulted.

Now our champ faces top-seeded Novak Djokovic in the US Open semi-finals, the fourth straight year they will face off in New York. Roger holds a 3-1 edge. In their most recent head-to-head meeting, in this year's French Open semi-finals, Roger ended Djokovic's 43-match winning streak.

ROGER IS THE GREATEST. He lost 2 match points, ok, but he must be more disappointed than us. I will suport him forever, no matter what. We love u Roger!

True federer gave it to Nole but no need to be this way with this language. What are you people! Roger will retire whenever he pleases certainly not when you ungrateful bunch of people say so. What do Murray / roddick etc etc fans have to say I wonder? They rarely win anything!

Roger thanks for the magic! You must be gutted especially as you lost and not Nole won!

Poor behaviour as usual from Nole! Lacks such grace

Federer san, I am very proud of you. You did not use any device or diet or medicatioin and yet you did so well. In fact for most part of the match you did better. However matches are like that , we either win or lose. To me he is no. 1 ranking he has a winning record and he is younger. And with all the extra help you were up there with him. That say a lot.

Please do not be discouraged. I love you. ALl your fans love you.

Roger,
just know, no matter what happens, even if you loose, it's a beautiful privilege to watch your tennis. You lost, okey, but you made my day. Everytime you play you make tennis prettier. You're a genius and sometimes it's unbelievable how beautifully you play. It's why I pray to watch you more. No one will be as good as you and no one will put so much fantasy, heart and incredibility in the game.
We're with you, now Masters is coming... you will have chance to show them who rocks :)
