Roger levels vs. Australia

16.09.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger defeated Lleyton Hewitt 5-7, 7-6(5), 6-2, 6-3 in his first match in the Davis Cup encounter today, pulling Switzerland even with Australia at 1-1.

It took Roger a set and a half to get used to the conditions on the grass court at Royal Sydney Golf Club. He then continually raised his level of play, winning the important points from there on. Roger thus secured the important first point for Switzerland after Stanislas Wawrinka had lost to Bernard Tomic.

Roger and Stan will play Chris Guccione and Lleyton Hewitt in tomorrow's doubles.

Amazing, how happy you look. How do you manage?
Australia is a great place to recover after a terrible defeat. A country with great tennis tradition and people who love you and sincerely respect.
I do not know how you played, but it is important that you win.
What is most important is that you play well until the end of the season and win a title. And then 2012, and at least one gs title, and I will be happy.
bye bye

Hmmm, I understand that you are human, not a machine or a robot, but here's a message: You better improve your backhand & rallies, and most of all, a 100% serve to save your spirit ! Actually, you need to be a little more brave & improve your stamina. Best of luck & keep your shots short & focused. Don't let opportunities slip away, you've lost too many chances, don't you think so ????????????
