Defeat in doubles

Despite a good start, Roger and Stan were defeated 6-2, 4-6, 2-6, 6-7(5) in Sydney by Australia's Hewitt / Guccione in doubles today.

Switzerland will need a Sunday win from Roger against 18-year-old Bernard Tomic (ATP 59) in order to keep hopes of Davis Cup promotion alive. Stanislas Wawrinka (ATP 19) will play against Lleyton Hewitt (ATP 199).

You guys were doing soo well in the 1 set. What happen to you after that? It just went down hill from there. I really hope you guys win your singles matches tomorrow. Best of luck to you guys! GO ROGER AND STAN!!

Sorry about the loss today Rog and Stan, Lleyton is such a fierce warrior in these events and Guccione was an absolute wall at the net. Unfortunately it puts a whole lot more pressure on the last 2 rubbers tomorrow, especially Stans!! Will be watching and losing more sleep, all the very best to you both and GO TEAM SUISSE. xxx

Getting a rythm was difficult: you weren't able to practice together enough, in doubles it's harder to enter in the match and on grass there aren't almost any rallies. So there's only hope that you do better next game.
ALLEZ les deux!

The venue is gorgeous, the ambience very cozy.
