Great display in both singles Roger and an amazing heart by Stan on a surface that is clearly disfavourable for him. Rest a little, train hard and show to all the youngsters how real tennis has to be played. Good luck next year on the world group, if stan gets better on grass they will have to put an ice court to beat your team.

This time the HERO was Stan. He had all the pressure and many other things against him. I must confess, I had already thought Australia was going to win (please, don’t tell Stan!) but I had forgotten Hewitt had the same pressure on his side.
At the end it was very valuable that YOU ALL did your jobs and up to the end!
