Roger storms through

Roger made a solid start into the Swiss Indoors in Basel today, defeating Potito Starace 7-6(3), 6-4.

It took Roger some time to find the rhythm in his ground strokes, but he won the tiebreak of the first set comfortably 7-3. In the second set our champ then broke the 54th-ranked Starace's serve in the opening game and eventually wrapped up the win after 78 minutes in front of a cheering home crowd.

 

Roger will now face either Thomas Bellucci (ATP 38) or Jarkko Nieminen (ATP 66) on Wednesday.

We LOVE ourselves some Roger Federer and in light of ALL that he has achieved and done for others I couldn't imagine having another Tennis Players name in my mouth!

Hi Roger,
You had a very good game against the djoker. You were so aggressive and your footwork was perfect. Although you didn't have won any major this year, but I'm contented that you are the only person that stop the Djoker from keep winning.

Hi Roger, glad your first round match is over and you can start tuning your game up for the rest of the tourney. Best wishes for tomorrow against Jarkko, sorry you're playing him cos he's another player I like to watch and he's such a nice guy but I want to see you win!
