Roger made it through to the quarter-finals after defeating Jarkko Nieminen 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 at the Swiss Indoors today.

It looked like an easy win in the beginning as Roger raced through the opening set. But three double faults left him a double break down in the second as Nieminen grabbed a 4-1 lead and later the set.But our champ found his serve soon after in the decider as he dropped a single point on his first serve and secured one break which gave him just the lead he needed to make it into the next round in Basel.

Roger!!Congraulation,you won the first two matches.......But these two matches,you did not play very well,you know?....The next match you may head to Roddick,he always lost the match with you.But if you can not pay more attention to your skills and matches....I do not know what may happen.....Go Roger!! You can win the next enemy!!!

continued: you made a bit of a meal out of serving for the match! Down break point and needed ?4 match points. But we wanted to see you play as much as possible, so we shouldn't grumble! The way you started the 3rd set I knew you'd got it together again. Most emphatic! All in all such a beautiful day - weather wonderful, B&B owner so kind and loves you too! And Basle is a lovely city - only ever been through on a train, never stayed before and now will revisit next year.

I had such a thrilling day in Basle watching you 'live' with all your home town fans. What a fantastic tournament - refined and elegant. Your match was a bit too exciting at times and the whole auditorium held its breath! I guess you just lost focus after you won the first set so easily. And afterwards you said your ball toss went wrong in the second set, but in the third your play was fantastic again, beautiful serve and volleying though you made a bit of a meal out of serving

PTC - I agree with you but some people are never satisfied! I note that some do not even know which set he lost - it was the second not the first!!

Nice one Rog, awsome recovery !
Wish people wouldnt make so much noise about dropping a set - you are doing brillant! They forget you have been away for six weeks, while Nieminen was confidently back from being a finalist at Stockholm. Take that into account and you're the Bizniz :) big love xxx
