First title in Paris-Bercy

Roger captured the 69th title of his career thanks to a 6-1, 7-6(3) victory over Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the ATP-1000 tournament in Paris today!

"I've been waiting for this for a long time," Roger said. "I'm really happy to have finally made it."

Roger played Tsonga for the sixth time this year and clearly took control this time, winning the first five games before closing out the first set in just 30 minutes. The second set went without a break. The tie-break was all Roger, who won the first four points and opened a 6-1 lead before finally ending it on his third match point.

Roger is only the seventh male player in the Open Era (since 1968) to win 800 matches. Furthermore, next to the 802 wins he has a total of 18 career Masters titles.

Roger will carry a 12-match winning streak into the ATP World Tour Finals, which open next Sunday in London.

Congratulations!!!a back to back titles coming from you-feels great,thank you so much...you bring joy in all the hearts of your fans...i think you improved your game a lot...not aiming for many aces now but making sure of your first serve and a sure winner on the second shot is wonderful...and your ball placements were amazing..commentators are right-matches in paris can be considered the great games we've seen for quite some time..especially against berdych..keep burning,stay healthy.God BlessÜ

Thankyou and congragulations onyour victories at Basel and Paris. But the heartbreak of US open-2011 still remains. I donot know what happened to you at that juncture, it was a mystery. You gifted the match to joker. Nevertheless donot worry on that count, improve your mental toughness and self confidence to insurmountable levels, play with gusto and determination.
