Final in London

26.11.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger has reached the finals of the World Tour Finals in London after a 7-5, 6-3 win over David Ferrer today - his 100th final on the ATP Tour!

It was a tight opening, because both players were producing strong service holds. Ferrer even had a glimpse of a chance at 4-5 in the opening set when Roger eventually held serve after five deuces. After one hour, Roger took the chance to win the first set. In the second set, our champ broke the fifth-seeded Ferrer twice, converting his second match point with a forehand winner after one hour and 25 minutes.

This victory also meant that Roger will end the year as world number 3, moving back above Andy Murray. Roger will either face Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Tomas Berdych in tomorrow's final.

Tsonga will be your rival today, and he's feeling strong, powerful and solid on court. He's improved his tennis since the first match against you, and the motivation to win his first Finals title would make him to be aven more excited.
That's why today's match will be so intense and heartbreaking.
However, you've proved to feel in excelent shape here in London, so we all have to be confident and believe in you always.

Congratulations champ! It was such a difficult and tight match, but you managed to find your best tennis to reach the final.
A year later, you have the chance to win again the Finals title, which would mean you become the first man to win 6 Masters trophies in History. That is absolutely outstanding.7
It is also your 100th World Tour final and the possibility, once again, to take your tilte number 70! There are no words to describe how wonderful this sounds to me!
