Masters title number 6!

Roger secured a sixth title at the ATP World Tour Finals thanks to a 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-3 victory in a spectacular match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga !

 

"I couldn't be more happy, I couldn't be more exhausted," Roger said. "I can't be happier with the way the season has finished."

Roger had to overcome a threat from Tsonga in the middle of the match as his opponent broke our champ as he served for the match at a set and 5-4 up. And also later, as Roger was about to wrap up the tie-break, the Frenchman saved a match point before leveling at one set all.

But as in the first set, Roger broke Tsonga again in the eighth game of the decider and made no mistake when he served for the championship for the second time.

With Roger's triumph in his 100th final today he is now also the alone record holder for titles at the ATP World Tour Finals, leaving Ivan Lendl and Pete Sampras behing him. The title today is his 70th career title!

Roger is now off to a well deserved holiday before taking up his training in Dubai.

I thoroughly enjoyed your TURKEY -Basel,Paris and London. i understand-Sports is not for the weak -hearted.You r a true CHAMP,a TENNIS MAESTRO.Looking forward to seeing you rise to No.1 in 2012 and winning atleast two grand Slams and Olympics Gold medal.i am just being realistic not overambitious.I know u can Win atleast Australian/US and Wimbledon and possible French Open in 2012.Roger,that's all we billions of fans want to desperately see you crush the new KIDS on the block

i think i didnt say congratulatio before...so congratulations to you rogi :) was a great match, but to be honest i almost get a heart attack, i hope i neve get there, was amazing match, thank u for that.

Congratulations on your well fought victory over Tsonga to win your 6th WTF title making it your 70th career title!!!
A very well deserved win after a somewhat unlucky season especially in the important matches, so it was a really a tremendous effort for you to come out strong after that tough loss at the US Open!!!

While I am happy to join everybody in congratulating Roger on his win, I am a bit cautious as this is how - minus Paris 1000 - season 2010 had ended. I was hoping then that he'd continue his top form in 2011 but it was not the case after winning semi-exhibition in Doha. Loss of concentration, lapses in confidence, when he would lose 4-5 games in a row or squander 2:0 sets lead, had lost him RG and UO, possibly TC too. So, I hope he'll be able to maintain this form in the upcoming season.

I watched the live match and the replay. I was nervous when you lost the second set, which you should have won. As Brad Gilbert said, 99% of the players would have been discouraged to play the third set after losing that second set. But you toughened it up and got the job done. You knew how many of us would have had a bad holiday if you didn't win this match. I was relieved and very, very happy. Thank you for the holiday gift! Enjoy your holiday with your family!
