Nadal too strong

31.12.2011 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger suffered another defeat in Abu Dhabi today as he lost to Rafael Nadal 1-6, 5-7 in the match for third place.

"It's about getting ready and feeling fine out there and enjoying a great atmosphere here and having the chance to play world class players," Roger said. "Trying a few things, see where you are at and see where the other guys are at. Obviously, I could tell Novak and Rafa are playing really well. That is not a surprise to me. I expected them to be in good shape for next year and they proved that to me this weekend."

Dear Rog!
It doesnt matter, you are starting a new season , and the important thing is that you are playing well and that you will be champion of sooo many tournaments as a award of your hard work! :) Come On! you have us !

Halo Roger
I do hope that you were saving yourself for the upcoming tournaments (especially AO) ! It was just a whim to play like that right ? You were just pretending that your level has dropped right ? ^^
In any case, it was just an exo & the most important thing was to see where the other players were without giving away any indication of your form ;)
Wishing you a Happy New Year, full of slams + 3 Gold Medals !!!

I didn't see the match, but I read the "jerk's" comments and just saw the Rafa score. I'm glad I didn't see either match. I hope this is not what the future holds?! Please. Somebody in Rogerville mentioned a "pot belly?!" Say it ain't so Rog. On a more positive note. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! I hope this is a better year for everyone and that this economy improves so 14 million unemployed in the states find work!

Dear Roger,
It was great to see you again after a long month in which I missed you so much!
I'm looking forward to see you in Doha, where I'm sure you'll be more concentrated than yesterday and today...
Enjoy your family and friends tonight and, once again, don't forget that your fans will always be with you, no matter what (your true fans at least). *
I wish you all the best for 2012: * * * may it be a peRFect year! * *
lots of love, * * * * * *

Our broadband failed on 26th Dec and I haven't seen anything of Roger's matches this week nor been able to read about them. I learned the scores, a day later on Beeb teletext! Abu D was not a Tour tourney, so I assumed Roger (and probably Rafa) wouldn't play at their best, but would ease in. To have to start your year after Christmas playing Djoker apparently (?) back with huge self-conviction was tough and surely both of them see this tourney as not a time to tire or injure themselves?

Dear Rog, I was a bit worried during that first set; you seemed not yourself at all. The second set was a lot more fun: you insist you are feeling well and fit, but I'm still not too sure. Take care of yourself and good luck next week. Love xxxxxx
