Roger pulls out of semis

06.01.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 3

Dear Fans

Unfortunately, I had to take the decision to pull out of the semi-finals today in Doha. I had back spasms which I don’t want to aggravate. I am confident that with some treatment and exercise my back will recover fully.

Dearest Roger,

It's a good decision. Take care of your health first. I'll pray every day your back will recover completely before AO.

Love you always,

And be healthy again and ready for AO. It is a must win for you this grand slam. I hope you go out there and put in all your best and shove the Djoker in his place this tennis season. He has had his run last year and that should be it. I want to see a resurgent Roger Federer winning again like you did in your hey-days. Good luck and I will be watching and commenting all the way.

I woke up this morning Eastern time to watch the match, and all I saw was that you pulled out because of back strain. I already knew you would cos you did not play your best at all in your match against Andreas Seppi. It was obvious that something was bothering you. Good decision to withdraw and take care of your health first. Thank God you still have up to 10 days or so to treat this back problem that comes on and off Roger. I know you that you will employ the best medical help you can get...

Makes sense to pull out if you're in pain. Hope your back gets better in time for the Australian Open, but even when it comes to that, health should come first. Take care and get well soon.
