Roger cruises into second

Roger moved into the second round of the Australian Open with a 7-5, 6-2, 6-2 victory over Alexander Kudrjawtsew (ATP 172) today.

Roger raced through his service games today. He came under pressure from Kudrjawtsew but held firm, fending off two break points to keep himself in the contest. After losing a tight first set, Kudrjawtsew called for medical time-out early in the second set. After the short break, Roger was unstoppable - he raced through four of the next five games to clinch the second set and then cruised through the third and last set needing just one match ball. 

"I've been feeling fine for three, four days now," Roger said after the match. "I've been able to practice full out. I really tried to put in an effort to play every point as hard as I could first to see how the back felt, try to get into it, hopefully win, and then see how I feel tomorrow."

Next up is a clash with either France's Eric Prodon (ATP 96) oder Germany's Andreas Beck (ATP 93) on Wednesday.

This walkover may be a blessing in disguise as it gives you an opportunity to rest your back a bit. Of course we would rather watch you playing ! That means i'll finally get some sleep today ;-) It's now on to the next one . Loads of love Rog :-) Supporting you all the way!

SO you don't need to play next round? A shame for us fans (and for our in vain early waking up, but this is not so bad)

Maybe very good for your back? Some more days not playing full out...

Sure, Nadal knew what is doing? Being a model in a brand name, that's why he always took off his shirt whenever he won to show off his body. How about he lost his game, He should take off his P*****.
Concentrate with your game. Forget the press. People like to fight, aside from Nadal because they are jealous for your success. Good Luck

Congratulations for the victory, Roger! You seemed feel quite fit and physically well, and this is so important. If your back problems have disappeared completely we are sure you'll be able to play at your best for the following days. That's great! Keep on going and good luck against Beck. Hope I will see you into round 3. All the best Roger. Come on! :)
