Round of 16 Down Under
Roger has made it through to the fourth round of the Australian Open after a 7-6(6), 7-5, 6-3 win over Ivo Karlovic in 2 hours 17 minutes.
"I definitely got a bit fortunate and started to play better as the match went on," Roger commented the crucial break point against him in the opening tie-breaker. "I knew going in it was going to be tough. I played him 10 times, and we've played some breakers. I knew it could come down to a few here and there," Roger said after breaking Karlovic once in the second and third set.
Roger counted a total of 24 forehands among his 55 winners and only made 13 unforced errors in 33 games. On his quest for title number five Down Under, Roger will now take on the winner of the match between Alexandr Dolgopolov and Bernard Tomic in the round of 16.
