Basel: the draw

20.10.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger will be playing in his hometown Basel this week. He has captured the title at 'his' tournament five times so far.

He will start his quest for a sixth title against Gilles Muller (ATP 53). The two have met four times so far with Roger winning all of the matches - including the quarter-final of the US Open in 2009.

In the following round, Roger could cross the path of Jerzy Janowicz (ATP 36) before playing a possible quarter-final against Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov (ATP 11). And then the semis could mean a clash between the two Davis Cup teammates, Roger and Stan Wawrinka.

Really wished you could skip Basel, but knew you wouldn't (sorry Swiss fans). Somehow I feel people take granted... if you don't show up it would be a big deal. Whatever you've done for the tournament in the past, how disgraceful TD is, hardly someone try to put them in your shoe.

Is there any other tournament in Switzerland?

Anyway, wish you have a fun in Basel.

Good luck for the tournament and the rest of the year. Hope you aren't paying any attention to Rafa's comments and shenanigans. If you meet him hope you beat him and he doesn't use the appendix excuse. If he truly had appendicitis he would have been operated on. Anyway I am sure you will not deign to comment on such rubbish. You are very confident at present and you always play your best when you are confident so bonne chance.
