Federer flying after 'rock solid' triumph (ESPN.co.uk)

Juan Martin del Potro was left to rue a host of missed chances after suffering a straight-sets defeat to Roger Federer in the final of the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam on Sunday. "In the first set, I was rock solid. I played great from start to finish," Federer said. "In the second set, it got tighter. I'm happy I was able to sneak it out. He couldn't pull the trigger the way he wanted to. Just like yesterday [against Davydenko], I had a good mindset. I really believed I was going to make it difficult for him, especially on the break points. I know the second set could have been a whole lot different."

"It's nice to pick up the momentum after the indoor season I had last year," Federer, who finished 2011 by winning titles in Basel, Paris and London, told reporters. Dear Roger
Bravo for everything you have done so far! We, your fans, are not supposed to give you advice: play this or that way! It's something up to you. I admit, I enjoy only when you win, but I love you, win or lose! I'm sure you could play longer that those fierce shoting players, not to mention the names! We all know them. Your play is nice, smooth, majestic! they will NEVER

Dear Rogerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr,

I hope you won't get over-excited about small tournaments. Think of the big ones. Let these smaller events be stepping stones to the grand slams. You need the same fighting spirit of winning in the big matches. Look at Djokovic & Nadal - they are fiercely competitive and ambitious! Their game is full of power. Please try to hit your forehand return shots slightly above the net as I can see unforced errors coming out easily. This must be avoided

continued...After watching the review, I was so happy to see that you played so well that words can't explain like you are a SUPERSTAR. I have the confidence that you can make if you have the determination and have your mindset to enjoy the game. Since your twins are 3.5 years, I think you have more room to enjoy playing and your twins will know how to appreciate you are playing so well. Life is so worth it that you have everything and you know how to share your wealth.

Tonight, I watched the ABN Ambro ATP highlights. I watched the first set of your game with Davydenko and I was so nervous to watch to the end of the game. I checked the score the next day and noticed you won the second set and there was another third set and you won. I was so happy. I assumed that it must be an exciting game that you had with Davydenko, that's why I watched the repeat highlights. You were playing like when you were at age 22, with all the grand slams. You were fantastics.
