Roger cruises into round 2

Roger moved into the second round in Dubai with a 6-0, 7-6(6) victory over Michael Llodra today.

Our champ startet fantastically, winning the first eleven points of the match and closing the opening set after a mere 18 minutes. In the second set, Roger had to battle here and there as both players held their serve and Roger also had to fight off a break-point. In the tiebreaker Roger then made everything clear after 67 minutes of play.

Next up is a clash with Spain's Feliciano Lopez (ATP 15). Our champ leads the head-to-head 9-0.

The first set was a true "Federer Moment " !!!
Mika woke up in the second set but you were't going to let him spoil the game...
sheer grit, determination and some of your ever brilliant shots brought the match home !!!
Congratulations Roger !!!

Another lefty tomorrow, but you'll be ready !...

Congratulations on your win--brought back memories of the 2004 US Open QF when you defeated Lleyton Hewitt 6-0,7.6[3]6-0.
Enjoyed todays match where all aspects of your game excellent except perhaps your 1st serve% a little low BUT nothing wrong with 2nd [serve] 'A player is only as good as their 2nd serve'

Llodra is good ... and Roger played splendidly. As good as he ever has.

3. A tough victory where you need to fight hard is more usefull to prepare you for the semis and finals. I clearly remember you saying 'It was a difficult match (against davydenko in Rotterdam), I fought really hard so for me it's a great victory"...And we could see how happy and satisfied you were! It's alway too easy for you at the beginning and then you might not be ready for the big fight. Please play every point point like you were facing match point! Good luck for the next!Always your fan!
