Roger reaches the next round in Madrid

19.10.2006 | Tennis

Roger beats Robin Soderling in an inspired match and reaches the quarter-finals. Neither player showed any sign of weakness on their serve and went to a tie break in both sets. At these key moments Roger produced his customary push to win the tie break 7-5 in set one and 10-8 in set two. He will meet Robby Ginepri in the quarter-finals after the American defeated world number eight Tommy Robredo 6-3 7-6.

Congratulations on another win. You must be feeling very good as it looks the match was tight. Your opponent today seems to know how to challenge you (I remember Halle) --but not how to win against you!

Good luck with the next match against Ginepri.
