Roger moved into the third round in Dubai after a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Feliciano Lopez today.

In an equal fight and tight first set Roger had his first break points - three to be precise - at 5-4, but he was not able to seize the opportunity at that very moment. Eventually, Roger served 9 aces and got 95% of his first serve points to take the first set 7-5. The second set was similar to the first, with Roger untouchable on serve. Our champ needed just one matchball to win the match after 75 minutes.

In the quarter finals, Roger will meet Mikhail Youzhny (ATP 34). Our champ clearly leads the head-to-head 11-0.

Brilliant serving. Lopez couldn't keep it up but you could. I saw you beat Youghny last year at Wimbeldon. He fought and fought and took the first set. He's tough, but you were somehow not in a good mood that day. Now you seem in fine form. Good luck for the next round. Love the outfit by the way. Unlike Tsonga's horrible one (but good new hairstyle!)
