Roger battles into final

02.03.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger fought a thrilling battle against Juan Martin Del Potro today to finally defeat the Argentinian 7-6(5), 7-6(6) and book a spot in the Dubai final.

“I hung in there and I thought I played a good match,” said Roger. “He almost pulled the first set tie-breaker back from 2-6, and there was little between us tonight. I just fought well and got a little lucky."

Roger is the only player not to drop his serve this week, and he also remains indomitable on serve because he did not face a single break point. Both sets went into tie-breaks and in the second set Del Potro had a 5-0 lead. But Roger fought back and had a stunning comeback which helped him turn the score around and also win the second set.

Our champ will now play Andy Murray in tomorrow's final. The Scotsman beat Novak Djokovic earlier today.

Beautiful is all anyone can say - Last week and this one! and if the recent past is any indication, you will prevail covincingly tomorrow, as you tend to follow a tight match in the semis with a strong win in the finals.

Anyway, best wishes for tomorrow as usual

I saw that someone in the stands in Dubai holding a " ROGER FOREVER" sign which I applaud fully, but would like to remind the world that I Invented the phrase!!!

ROGER FOREVER

A good match. Delpo seems to be getting his winning stride back. Murray also is playing well and will be coming off a high after beating the Djoker. You really need tp play well physically and mentally. Be glad Djoker and Nadal are not on the other side of the net.
