06.03.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger lost the BNP Paribas Showdown at the Madison Square Garden in New York against Andy Roddick 5-7, 6-7(7).

"We’ve had some great battles over the years in all the great stadiums and this is one of them, so I’m glad we did it,” Roger said after the match. “I wish I could have pushed it to a third set."

Next up are the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

Not worried by this. You didnt get much rest before this match after your last win, and travel.

**VIRGILIUS Fan, back a few pages, what you said about Roger remaining the greatest until humanity exits is something I truly believe. I think the gods on Mount Olympus always watch Roger play and they delight in him, because being divine, they know the heights.

Hello Roger,

Right after lifting the trophy in Dubai on the plane to New York to play a match for fun against Andy who has always supported and defended you, especially when the press was very hard on you. It was a fun exhibition, thanks to the good tennis and your good relationship and Andy's interaction with the spectators. I was happy to see Andy play again and I hope he gained some confidence from this match. And of course it is nice that the home player won.

Hi Roger,
Great diplomatic move. Great play. Thank you very very much for coming to Rotterdam this year. You really made my son's and my year. We really hope you can come again next year. We loved seeing you play up close. You are a wonderful player and a wonderful man. I wish you well this year and hope to see you win at least one grand slam this year and hopefully reach the no. 1 position. Good luck!
