Roger defeated by Roddick

Roger lost the BNP Paribas Showdown at the Madison Square Garden in New York against Andy Roddick 5-7, 6-7(7).

"We’ve had some great battles over the years in all the great stadiums and this is one of them, so I’m glad we did it,” Roger said after the match. “I wish I could have pushed it to a third set."

Next up are the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

Everybody knows you are great diplomat too. Good move. I predicted the outcome, and i know you can beat Andy Roddick another 10 straight times from now, but still need the crowd on your side. You might remain the GREATEST untill humanity will no longer play tennis.

1-Hello Roger how are you? It was lovely to see you, cool show, hope you had a lot of fun.

I wouldn't say defeated because I don't regard this event as something competitive to me it was just fun, and I think you performed excellent all those incredible shots! You did more than enough.

Thank you for a lovely relaxed exhibition [yes it WAS an exhibition NOT a match]
Great atmosphere, great venue with some wonderful shots from yourself along with comedian Andy.
We thought that it was a very funny enjoyable a couple of hours--thoroughly enjoyed it so thank you and Andy who has ALWAYS supported you through thick and thin . The evening was also very good for tennis in general.
