Indian Wells: the draw

07.03.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 2

The draw for the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells is out. Roger after a first-round bye will face Russia's Dimitry Tursunov (ATP 61). In the third round, Roger could meet Milos Raonic (ATP 27), known for his strong serves. After that a match with Gaël Monfils (ATP 14) is possible, before our champ could either play Juan Martin del Potro (ATP 9) or David Ferrer (ATP 5) in the quarter finals.

In the semis, Roger could meet Rafael Nadal (ATP 2) - which would be a chance to take revenge for the loss at this year's Australian Open final. Our champ could then play Novak Djokovic (ATP 1) in the final.

THEIR reply is that many players play around and take too long to start a new point particularly when serving. There you go, the younger generation ,on the whole, like sports or anything that moves quickly --just watch them with the latest IT!
Kindest regards

Hello Roger
Wishing you all of the very best in I8 Indian Wells
Thank you for mentioning the time that some players take between points.Interesting
that during your S/F Dubai the commentators told us several times that on average your time was BELOW the 20 seconds and JMDP was ABOVE [the 20 seconds] You only ocassionallly towelled yourself, opponent constantly.
It has become a joke and many younger fans whom we work very hard to play/ watch the game are not interested Why?

Looking forward to IW next week and seeing more of your amazing tennis! As many others say, win or lose watching you play tennis is a gift and I'm honored to be your fan...and...
ps. as far as the thing about players taking too long between points...the only reason the AO final was the longest ever was because the two slowest players were in it (and I agree, people DON'T want to watch 5 minute points) Thanks Roger!
