Roger battles into quarters
Roger got by Thomaz Bellucci 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 to book a spot in the quarters in Indian Wells.
"These are the wins that sort of almost feel better, to be quite honest, because when you're playing great, it's simple, it's easy, right?" But when it's not going your way and things are difficult, that's kind of the good wins," Roger said.
For the second day in a row, he dropped the opening set but he then broke Bellucci in the first and ninth games of the second to level the match. The final set went with serve until Roger broke the 50th-ranked Brazilian in the 10th game, converting his second match point when the left-hander hit a forehand long.
It was Roger's 74th consecutive victory against a player outside the top 20, and he has won 36 of 38 matches since the US Open. After a well deserved rest today he will play either Juan Martin del Potro or Denis Istomin on Friday.

I wish you a speedy recovery from your illness and the match and good luck for your QF against Juan Martin.

Congratulations on a good victory over yet another young player whom you hadn't played before. As so often *hughsie* already has written exactly the same things that I had wanted to write: this match once again showing what a great competitor you are, unbelievable point to win the 2nd set which fully deserved that standing ovation and the TennisTV commentators praising you over and over again, saying everything we diehard fans think and feel about you since the very beginning.
Good luck to the QF!
Best regards, Champ!
Even the commentators were speechless.
They, the comms have during each match, made comments re the quickness of yourself & your opponents. As they have repeated ' one watches tennis for the quickness--that is what the FANS want they said several times--perhaps the message is getting through to the decision makers.
As for us the RF fans--they[the comms] have decided not to ask any more RF trivia questions as we know too much about you! There you go.
Good luck for QF
Regards
Margaret
During the last three matches you have proved to me again [not that I needed it]
why, when I watched you play, as a young teenager in your own country, that I knew/thought that we had just seen someone special who could posssibilty one day become a great tennis champion. The way that you have played this week whilst battling flu/ whatever is simply beyond belief-- you are simply one great competitor. As for the last point to win the second set yesterday--mind boggling truly.
