Roger to meet Roddick

24.03.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger secured his participation in week 2 in Miami with a 6-2, 7-6(3) victory over 19-year-old American Ryan Harrison today.

Roger battled at some points, especially towards the end of the second set, when he let a 5-2 lead slip away and was even confronted with a break-point at 5:5. But once again, Roger showed excellent tennis when under pressure and closed out the match after 84 minutes for his 40th victory in the past 42 matches. He has now extended his winning streak against players outside the top 20 to 77 matches.

Roger will now play Andy Roddick - winner of the tournament 2010 - in the third round on Monday. Roger is 21-2 against Andy Roddick, one of the defeats going back to Miami in 2008.

I call them tennis. Line is also part of the tennis court. You cant always tell that opponent had luck. Remember Roland Garros 2007 when Roger had 1/17 on break points against Nadal. Thats tennis. You must use your opportunities. With years go by, it is more and more difficult to do that. Unfortunately, thats life.

Sampras won US opern and retired. Why Roger cant do that also? When you are at the top. If he continues to play, his record against Nadal and Djokovic will be very bad. And I am not Nadal, Murray And Djokovic. I love Roger, and hate to see him lose like that.

TUNA4444, STFU, what you call that balls on the line, in the third set at 0-40???

Roger cant deal with preasure any more and cant use his opportunities. That the reason, not Roddicks luck.

TUNA4444, are you Murray, Nadal or Djokovic? How come he has to retire? Why? I think, if Federer has to retire, all players has to do that. What are you drinking, man, water from toilet?TUNA4444, maybe is time to do something with your brain...

ROGFEDFAN1991...not you again. You have a flat brain, as I understand, one loss will eraise everything, lol, have you watched the match? GTFO...I think Federer played ok for the most of the match, two big mistakes in first set, and couple in third, on his game, the all match was a luck of Roddick. Roddick had two balls on the line in the third game, at 0-40, and he served with first serve all game. Stats: Federer 43 winners, Roddick 30, Federer total points won 87, Roddick 82...

Roger, maybe its time for You to do something else in your life. I know that You love tennis more than anything else, except your wife and children, but this losses clearly point that maybe its better to end this at the end of this year. I wont criticize You if You do that. I will be sad, but thats life. Everything must end one day. Its more important that You are healthy and happy.
