Out against Roddick

Roger lost in the third round of Miami today against Andy Roddick 6-7(4), 6-1, 4-6.

Both player started well, holding serve in the first set with Roddick finally taking it in the tie-breaker. In the second set, Roger broke Roddick three times and showed great tennis. In the final set, Roger did not manage to take advantage of the four break chances he had, whereas Roddick seized his only opportunity of the match to seal the victory after two hours of play.

"I had my chances," Roger said after the match. "I could have been up a break early in the third, but he did well to fight off those break points. He served really well. I didn’t just get the lucky break today that I got in Indian Wells. I regret missing my opportunities and giving myself maybe a chance for tomorrow. Then you never know how things all of a sudden turn out in the tournament. It is what it is and I’ll deal with it the way I always have.”

Next up are the Mutua Madrid Open - the tournament starts on 7 May.

Hi, Roger! You can't paly bad, we all know that as well and it's also obvious that Andy gave everything that he had...the best game of him in years. You have been tremendous this year and your body needs to rest.
I agree if you don't compete in April. Intellihent estrategy of yours. You will conquer the points you need in the GS and in the rest of ATP 1000 tournaments. In those ones, you will prevail and the nr.1 place will return to your hands.

Roger, our boy! You just need some rest. Can you imagine how much you played this year already? You played great, but from the beginning we could witness you were a bit tired, Roger!
Take a good rest, and a good preparation to the dirt. Here will come your second RG, Roger, we believe, by the way you are playing amazing tennis, and can't wait.

Roger, you know better about your fitness and the rest your body needs. So the decision of playing at Monte Carlo lies with you and I am sure you would have put in a lot of thought before making a decision. As fans, we would love to see you play at Monte Carlo so that you can gain the points you lost at Miami and get closed to Rafa on points. Hope your body gets the required rest in the next couple of days and hope that you will play at Monte Carlo. Finger Crossed!!!

can't believe you lost to Roddick cham he's out of form and you're in form, Monaco Outclass him last night, but i sure u'll be on winning track soon in Madrid.. GO RF

Roger, we love to watch you play. You are the best ever tennis player. Do us all a favour. So many of us want to see you play in Monte Carlo and pick up some ranking points too. Tournament without you is just NOT the same. Love you Rog...

think about it..you have been having a very good season ...why take a break...if you play Monte-Carlo..you still can have 2 weeks of before that and 2 weeks after that..

the only reason i want you to play is that i love watching you ...it was a good match against roddick..only if you had taken that break point in the 3rd set's 2nd game...the momentum was all yours..and ..it was shocking :/

but now lets get over that and lets play Monte-Carlo :D
