Roger battles through
09.05.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1
Roger came from a set down to beat Milos Raonic 4-6 7-5 7-6 (7-4) in the second round of the Madrid Masters today.
Roger had a rough day today, especially due to the young Canadian's serve - he fired 21 aces in a match that lasted just over two hours. Raonic reached a 100%-quote on points won upon first serve that landed in the field. Roger only saw his first break point towards the end of the second set. Fortunately, he improved on his own serve gradually throughout the match and was eventually able to wrap everything up in the tie-breaker.
Roger will now meet Richard Gasquet (ATP 18) in the third round in Spain's capital. Our champ won nine out of the eleven matches the two have played - losing 2 out of 3 on clay, though.

You had a tough match, won it, congratulations! You deserved to win, you play so nice tennis, not only aces!!!
Hope you'll be ready and healthy for your next opponent! He is not less dangerous comparing to the previous one, he only doesn't serve so fiercely!
Wish you all the best and good luck dearest Roger!
Go, Roger, gooooooooooo!
Love, Mimi
I hope that tonight will be easier.
Best of luck, Roger.
Congratulations on your win. It was a tough first match for you but in the end with your usual determination and calmness you were able to overcome Raonic. Well done. Good luck in the next round against Gasquet.
