Roger battles through
09.05.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1
Roger came from a set down to beat Milos Raonic 4-6 7-5 7-6 (7-4) in the second round of the Madrid Masters today.
Roger had a rough day today, especially due to the young Canadian's serve - he fired 21 aces in a match that lasted just over two hours. Raonic reached a 100%-quote on points won upon first serve that landed in the field. Roger only saw his first break point towards the end of the second set. Fortunately, he improved on his own serve gradually throughout the match and was eventually able to wrap everything up in the tie-breaker.
Roger will now meet Richard Gasquet (ATP 18) in the third round in Spain's capital. Our champ won nine out of the eleven matches the two have played - losing 2 out of 3 on clay, though.

All the best in the next match :)
I think that was the big difference between you and Raonic.
It was a pleasure to see you playing some old school tennis and in general, I loved how you play and get trough the match.
Wish you the best for next encounter, GO ROGER GO ROGER!!!!
Tough match but ... steely resolve & mental toughness were the key.
I almost died today, but after watching you playing in a such wonderful way I'm positive sure you'll crush Richard Gasket tomorrow.
I wish you the best
