Roger cruises into quarters

10.05.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger got by Richard Gasquet 6-3, 6-2 to book a spot in the quarters in Madrid. Our champ broke the serve of Gasquet three times, while the Frenchman struggled to find his rhythm. Roger scored 10 aces and was able to wrap up the victory in just 58 minutes.

Next up will be David Ferrer on Friday.

Hello Roger,

After that 'best match of the week' (as the commentators said) you played yesterday, it was good to see you get passed Gasquet so quickly today. May your next round be as quick and clean as this one. I wish you all the best of luck for the QF.

Does the audience have to pay on one day the same price for one of your matches as for other players' matches? In the 58th minute Wawrinka was playing the Tie-Break of his 1st set!

I hope you'll find your rythm, I'm not sure if you had it today. I had the impression that Monsieur Gasquet was helping a bit...

El señor Ferrer ran a lot, but of course he IS NOT tired (he uses very good batteries!)
Good luck Roger!

Hi Roger
You are playing so well. I thought Gasquet would be another tough match for you, but you were a man on a mission! Play well, and with Nadal now out of the tournament, when you win this title, you will be number 2 again in the rankings. All the very best for your next match against Ferrer. Love watching your brilliant game.
