Roger breezes into semis

Roger cruised into the semifinals in Madrid today with a 6-4, 6-4 win over David Ferrer.

Both Ferrer and Roger proved they are in good shape, but Roger was in control of the match most of the time. He secured a break in each set to eventually seal the victory after 80 minutes.

Roger will play tomorrow's semi-final against Janko Tipsarevic who defeated Novak Djokovic today. Our champ leads the head-to-head 4-0.

Hello Roger,
Excellent match against Ferrer! Such a difference in class from both of you compared to Nadal and Djokovic. No fussing, no complaining, just doing what you are expected to do which is playing tennis. I must say though that it is clear for everyone to see that the court is more slippery than usual, which can make it harder on the body, because one has to adjust ones balance more often. Might be harder on the lower back as well. But you seemd to manage the Smurf clay very well.

So far so good! well done o! You were tested by Raonic, you brought your experience to bear and prevailed. It was one of your toughest opening matches in recent times. From then on, you have been on a roll! It's not done yet. You still have two more tasks ahead to lift the trophy, no 20! This is your chance, remain focused and calm and the title will be yours. You are very cool in your choice of strokes. I love the consistent backhand slice abd the forehand whip winners. Vary with serve and volleys and you will be prepared for Wimbledon and Olympics.

You make it look so easy O GREAT ONE,I know it isn't though.Fantastic win last night,I like David a lot he is such a trooper but not in your class.He will get a W somewhere else when you are not playing..Good luck today you know we are all with you stay well and upright!!! x
