Rome: the draw

14.05.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Just after Roger's title in Madrid, next stop on the ATP World Tour is the Italian capital for the 77th edition of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia. There 23 out of the 25 best players in the world have confirmed their participation there.

Roger, the no. 3 seed, is in the same half of the draw as the defending champion Novak Djokovic.

After a first round bye, our champ will start either against Argentina's Carlos Berlocq (ATP 38) or a qualifier. In the fourth round he could then face France's Gael Monfils (ATP 14). In the quarter-finals, Janko Tipsarevic or John Isner, seeded as no. 8 and no. 9, are possible opponents.

Wishing you the best in this Rome tourney. Tho, I wish you carefully listen to your body. When it feels something is wrong inside, it is sending you a message. Your health condition I believe, should be your top priority for it is the vehicle for you to achieve your professional tennis dream of regaining rank no.1. Once again, keep on setting the model of being not only a great tennis player, but also, one great hubby and dad to your beautiful wife and lovable twins. Godspeed and Good luck RF!

smart move by roger playing in rome. i know he enters every tournament to win it and he is tired after madrid but i think a quarter-final appearance would suffice to hold the n.2 ranking even if nadal wins the title. and we know it may play a huge role in the french open draw.

Hey Champ, rest well. As always listen to your body. Take one match at a time. If you feel strained, just withdraw. It's not worth to risk now as French Open is around the corner. You're gonna win Roland Garros this time. Take care.
