Rome: the draw

14.05.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Just after Roger's title in Madrid, next stop on the ATP World Tour is the Italian capital for the 77th edition of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia. There 23 out of the 25 best players in the world have confirmed their participation there.

Roger, the no. 3 seed, is in the same half of the draw as the defending champion Novak Djokovic.

After a first round bye, our champ will start either against Argentina's Carlos Berlocq (ATP 38) or a qualifier. In the fourth round he could then face France's Gael Monfils (ATP 14). In the quarter-finals, Janko Tipsarevic or John Isner, seeded as no. 8 and no. 9, are possible opponents.

Congratulations, dear!
We hope you can get better for Rome, but your
health is the most important! God bless you.
I loved to see your children.

Looking ahead - Wimbledon points drop a week before Wimbledon points get added, so Novak loses 1640 more than you, and Rafa loses 840 more than you. Currently you are 1770 points behind Novak. If you can get within 1640 points before Wimbledon, the points drop alone will give you that extra week at #1, regardless of Wimbledon results. So Rome and Roland Garros (and Halle) are now key tournaments in this regard. Good luck, and best of health.

1-Hello Roger how are you? I hope you're feeling better!

I read somewhere that you're a vegetarian is it true? I'm not quite sure because I once saw a picture of you about to eat some kind of shrimp, so I don't know. I would love that!!! Maybe you're because of the clembuterol thing they inject to them and all the hormones, antibiotics and all sorts of poison they give them even to the poor fish, or maybe you only eat organic, I don't know.

2-I'm a vegetarian actually a vegan since I was 10 I just love and respect nature and the other species so much I can't eat them I can't participate in the massacre. Really all the terrible suffering all the animals go through all over the world for all kind of unjustifiable reasons is my never ending suffering, I can't stand it it's truly something unbearable to me.

3-I try to help as much as I can I've always wanted to create a foundation to help animals and nature, hopefully in the future I'll be able to help more effectively. Anyway I wish I could find out that about you.

Enjoy your time in beautiful Rome. Have a great tournament! Keep having fun! I wish you all the best!!! Use all that renewed confidence!

Best of luck in Rome (my favorite city). Pacing one's self, fitness wise, with Wimbledon and the Olympics around the corner can be a bit tricky. Wisdom is the key. Wishing you and your family the best of health and happiness for rest of the year and beyond.

With you always.
