Roger rushes into the next |round

16.05.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger moved into the next round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Carlos Berlocq today.

Roger started perfectly by winning 12 out of the first 13 points, securing the first set. In the second set, Berlocq came back from a break down right away but our champ fought back immediately to secure another break and hold the lead. After only 69 minutes Roger converted his first matchball to win his first match in Rome this year.

Next up is Juan Carlos Ferrero (ATP 47), a former Rome champion (2001), on Thursday.

Too many missed opportunities and mistakes, Roger.
Yes, your return could be better.
Come on, Roger!

Look you need to listen to people who accutally watch you play, your return of serve is god aweful. The other top 3 would have made Ferrero play every return ... you however get what 35% returns back in and convert on about 9% of break points ... its shocking this guy has won two matches all year. Sort it out you've played aweful in Rome so far. Your great but you need to work on your return ... I dont think anyone is scard of serving to you even weak serves can pull you to tie breakers.

Well played Roger. It seems you were a bit tired after last week and decided to play after the practice session. Hopefully it wont be anything serious. Good luck in the next match... :)
