Roger breezes into semis

Roger powered past Andreas Seppi today, winning the quarter-final in Rome 6-1, 6-2.

Roger ended the crowd favourite's dream run to the quarter finals with a superb display. It took him just 19 minutes to take the opening set. Seppi started the second set stronger but Roger continued to dominate play and had no problems wrapping up the match thanks to a total of 25 winners and 4 breaks. He won 81% of the points on his first serve, proving he is in great shape.

Roger set up a semi-final encounter with Novak Djokovic. It is the first time that the two meet since their epic encounter last year at the US Open.

Oh Rogi! Not your night tonight but you come alive late in the second set to set the arena alight. [They use different adjectives for Djokovich: words like 'efficient'; about you,it is 'sublime', 'perfection' etc.] Since you were in two minds whether to play this tournament at all, we can be grateful. You played some fantastic matches. Let Djoko and Rafa knock themselves out tomorrow and you put your feet up and get some extra rest. Love to you our gorgeous champ,xxxxxxxxxx

Rough day Roger,going uphill against a more consistent opponent.You have given beautiful 'extra' matches this week thank you,gained points and needed information,and a few more days to rest up/prepare to light up the city where three summers ago,you weaved such beautiful,thrilling magic,memories of which still and ever will,delight the soul.Wish you good health always dear Roger,and continued enjoyment of your Tennis.So,Bonne Chance and Allezz.:D

To me a victory in Roma would have been as important as a Slam victory.

Our champ failed on account of unforced errors today! If Roger can cut down on his errors he can definately take the game away from Nole.. Something to work on at RG :) Today's match was a rare event since Roger and his biggest rival Nadal's fans all were hoping and praying for Rogers win :) Nadal fans know they would have liked a Nadal-Federer final rather than Nadal-Nole final.. Federer has played well all season and will play lot more.. This is his year and he knows it.. Go Fedex!

very good play against berlocq, seppi and ferrero, little UE, but when you play against Nadal and Djokovic that statistics it's not important because you play not bad, but enough bad that those guys easily win encounters against you¨!
