Roger breezes into semis

Roger powered past Andreas Seppi today, winning the quarter-final in Rome 6-1, 6-2.

Roger ended the crowd favourite's dream run to the quarter finals with a superb display. It took him just 19 minutes to take the opening set. Seppi started the second set stronger but Roger continued to dominate play and had no problems wrapping up the match thanks to a total of 25 winners and 4 breaks. He won 81% of the points on his first serve, proving he is in great shape.

Roger set up a semi-final encounter with Novak Djokovic. It is the first time that the two meet since their epic encounter last year at the US Open.

It's ok Rog. I said before this tournament started that I would take a loss this week because I felt you needed a bit of rest so even though I never ever want you to lose, this defeat is irrelevant as far as i'm concerned , even though Djokovic celebrated as though he had just won the title ( poor overzealous fellow lol). I can picture tomorrow's match now: Score tied 3-3 in the first set after an HOUR and A HALF !!!! I don't root for djokovic but I want him to win so that you stay at #2.RF4life

Did you guys look at the stats? Roger should have won the second set...
He put up a brilliant fight...his style didn't abandon him!
And...BOTING , if ND wins tomorrow, Roger will remain # 2.

Dear Roger, it seems to me you don't really want to win, look at your 1st serve percentage and winner vs UE. I hope you could win and play with Rafa tomorrow. Given FO is on the line, it is ok let Joker to battle with Rafa at Rome. You need a little bit rest and get ready for FO, to win major is more important.

Federer gains (360-90) plus 325 over Nadal. He should be No. 2 regardless of tomorrow's final.

Hope you are feeling ok - not hurt. You had me screaming at 5/5. Too bad about the first serve percentage and unforced errors. He hits everything back but there were flashes of brilliance for you. I am pulling for you at the French. With your recordes each new victory is simply another cherry on the pie.
