Stopped by Djokovic

19.05.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger's quest for back-to-back claycourt titles was ended by a 2-6, 6-7(4) defeat in the semi-final in Rome against Novak Djokovic.

Roger was broken twice in the opening set in their first encounter since the US Open last year. Roger was constantly under pressure and could not keep up with Djokovic's pace in the rallies. After falling a break back in the second set as well, Roger started to play more aggressively, varying his game and broke back after saving a match point. But in the following tie-break, Djokovic made the crucial points to win the match and book a spot in the final against Rafael Nadal.

The season is still young and yet you've already bagged so many titles and broken a number of records. This loss is nothing. All the best at the FO!

Dear Roger

You don't have to beat the best
You are the best

Only when you are playing
do I watch the rest

It's a free world
Let them say what they want

Then give them it

I've heard it all before
You have nothing to prove

They'll be watching every move

Do you know what I'm talking about?
Just pretend you're not the Goat
And go out there

and remove any lingering doubts

I do agree with MO's view that it doesn't matter so long as Nadal is in the other side. Our Champ gets the chance to revenge ND in the semi and it's comparatively not so difficult to beat ND than RN in clay. Once our Champ enters final, he at least accomplishes his 2011's result, he by then will have no pressure, enjoy his game and hopefully beat RN (if RN can reach final).

Roger, it doesn't matter who's in the draw, so long as Nadal is in the other side. You've got a few difficult ones, but as always, you'll Roger that...serve well, go for shots, but make sure they go in, and cut down on the errors...and of course, you will do that. Can't wait to see you hold that French Open trophy and silence and seal everyone as to who is the Greatest Tennis Player Of All Time.

☆Nothing better than playing without pressure, without worrying about what others think or do not think because those who love the sport and loves winning plays for pleasure and not have to prove anything to anyone and there is nothing more motivating than doing what if you like, regardless of who the opponents are always enters the court to win and so is a great champion!!!.☆

Bad or good draw will not change the fact that RN is the favoured to win his
7th RG .
