Stopped by Djokovic

19.05.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger's quest for back-to-back claycourt titles was ended by a 2-6, 6-7(4) defeat in the semi-final in Rome against Novak Djokovic.

Roger was broken twice in the opening set in their first encounter since the US Open last year. Roger was constantly under pressure and could not keep up with Djokovic's pace in the rallies. After falling a break back in the second set as well, Roger started to play more aggressively, varying his game and broke back after saving a match point. But in the following tie-break, Djokovic made the crucial points to win the match and book a spot in the final against Rafael Nadal.

HOW DAMN IT YOU ARE AGAIN NO3? I DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT NEW SYSTEM FOR POINTS AT ATP RANKING LIST...THE FINAL BETWEEN NADAL AND DJOKOVIC WAS SO BAD, SO UGLY, AND THE WAY DJOKER DEFEATED YOU BASED ON YOUR MISTAKES, IS THE SAME WAY NADAL DEFEATED HIM, MADE SO MANY ERRORS ON FORHEND. LOVE YOU, ROGER.

I think RN creates an aura of invincibility on clay & everyone believes it. RN is now buddies with ND, exhibitions, hugs, etc. result, ND loses to RN. It's psychological.RN's BSs all of us with the notion that he's a cinderella man conquering all by instinct & will. Roger is better than RN & ND, but the idea that Roger's invincible, is just unrealistic. RN & ND have lost plenty this year, so, what's wrong with our Roger losing 1 or 2 matches? The Love is 4 THE GENTLEMAN & HIS MASTERY! Really

The Forbes magazine's new list of the "100 most Powerful Celebrities" includes five tennis professionals, with Federer leading at No 31.

Rafael Nadal, the man who displaced him as the world's No 1 in 2008, comes in second at No 47. Maria Sharapova (71), Serena Williams (77) and Li Na (87) are the other tennis stars to make the list, which surprisingly has no place for the reigning men's No 1 Novak Djokovic.
RF ! You are still world no 1 no matter what!
You have a second glory in Tennis life
