Stopped by Djokovic

Roger's quest for back-to-back claycourt titles was ended by a 2-6, 6-7(4) defeat in the semi-final in Rome against Novak Djokovic.

Roger was broken twice in the opening set in their first encounter since the US Open last year. Roger was constantly under pressure and could not keep up with Djokovic's pace in the rallies. After falling a break back in the second set as well, Roger started to play more aggressively, varying his game and broke back after saving a match point. But in the following tie-break, Djokovic made the crucial points to win the match and book a spot in the final against Rafael Nadal.

per me sei e sarai sempre il migliore. come tennista e sportivo, ti ho visto a roma durante l'allenamento e sono stata fortunata ad avere un tuo autografo. anche se sconfitto a roma non mollare mai!!!!!!!!!!!! go roger spero di vederti agli USA OPEN di NY.

Really had the impression that you were satisfied with your semi-finalspot in Rome. You were nog 100% concentrated and focussed until 5-4 in the second. I think it's not that bad that you do not have to face Nadal in the final because of your back. Rest well and you will be fit at the start of RG.

Nole celebrated his victory really loud, because he knows you are the man to beat.

Roger, I was watching the game with Nole and is not the first time you do not move, I do not know if it's because you want to save energy, or because you really lost. I want that you return as N°1 but I think the only way is spent energy, because the technique you already have it.
