Roger breaks Connors' record
Roger beat Romania's Adrian Ungur 6-3, 6-2, 6-7(6), 6-3, today to book his spot in the third round at Roland Garros and also pass Jimmy Connors' record of 233 wins at majors!
"I expect myself to win and I usually manage to do it. It's not like that at the start of your career when you think you are good enough but you are not that good yet," Roger said after the match.
Roger was clearly in command in the first two sets, making a speedy way to victory today. But as the third set went into the tie-break Ungur first saved two match points to then come alive and take the match into a fourth set. But Roger soon managed his first break and left the Romanian no more room to catch up, wrapping everything up nicely after 2 hours 27 minutes.
Roger will face either Slovakia's Martin Klizan (ATP 70) or Nicolas Mahut (ATP 89) of France for a place in the last 16.

In AO was on the site the full interview transcripts from each player, I was curious to see what Adrian Ungur said after those two matches and what the others players says about next round, in this case Mahut.
Have a nice rest and day off and good luck for your next round!
Play to Win !!!!! Now or Never, your time is this last time??? Think about it, you may not be able to compete next year as you are not growing any younger!!!
I appreciate your bold comment after this match, but think twice, not thrice! The opponents at the quarter finals onwards get really desperate to win, and each one is determined to do something about it to get to the next level, but PLEASE NOTE: If you will throw loose balls across the court, you won't do better, the higher ranked players are opportunists, and they dream of the grand slam, as much as you want to win this time, or may you will dream again!
Every time u step on the court, it seems there is another record to be broken, that is awesome!
