Roger in semis after |five-set thriller

05.06.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger came back from two sets down to win his quarter-final match against Juan Martin Del Porto 3-6, 6-7(4), 6-2, 6-0, 6-3 today to reach his record-tying 31st Grand Slam semi-final.

"I knew Juan Martin's knee was bothering him and was trying to finish the rallies quickly," said Roger. "I knew it would be a big fight today."

Roger did not seem in form in the opening set, simply committing too many errors. In the second set, he found into the game but eventually dropped the set in the tie-breaker (4-7). Then, he shifted another gear and started the third set with an early break when Del Potro double-faulted. After that, del Potro seemed to be struggling with a knee injury, his ability to move becoming gradually worse. Roger later converted his second match ball after 3:14 hours secure a spot in the semis - where he will play Novak Djokovic.

I mean by Win, you need to win those upcoming tournaments to have a saying in the top ranking. It's all about determination and your own believe in your abillity, to power to win. Djokovic is almost topping you head to head...just remarkable. Of course the are younger and in their prime, but still you can compete with them, just not today. It SUCKED TOTALLY AND YOU KOW THAT FOR YOURSELF FOR SURE !!! PLEASE COME BACK SUPERSTRONG, DON'T LET THEM FOUL YOU. IT ALL IN THE MINDSET AND THE EXECUTION

Roger game is best suited in grass & not slow condition court like clay..further more, already rain which make the court further slow..when roger cannot finish the rally, he tend to make his short and lead to more error since novak is yonger & better stamina than roger..

Well what to say, just nothing! Speechless, pain, sadness, that's all I can Find. Even your mental strenght wasn't there in the third to go for it, and maybe get a set or more to a fifth set. If you don't believe in your chances then it won't work . First set good start bad finish, almost exactly second set horrible to watch, how you faulted in execution, just unacceptable! and you know it. Nevrtheless, if you really want gain something work hard, at stamina, mental strenght, endurance, and WIN!

☆Champion does not matter, you're great in victory and in defeat, you're the one who wins all the tournaments on any surface, some just change the surface to lose, then all you won tournaments are super important. We are proud of you and everything you do in tennis, his volleys between her legs are amazing and unbelievable surprises his opponents and leaving everyone open-mouthed like no other, these are things that we remember forever, a lot of good achievements to come. Congratulations for
