Out against Djokovic

08.06.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger suffered a 4-6, 5-7, 3-6 loss against Novak Djokovic in the semi-final of the French Open today.

"I was actually feeling particularly well in the second set, and that one hurts the most to lose," Roger said. "In the third, I don't know, I just wasn't able to put a good game together anymore. You're down two sets to nothing against Novak and it's not the same match anymore. He goes for broke and has no fear and that's about it."

Roger had a good start by breaking Djokovic early in the first set but receiving the re-break in return. Djokovic secured the first set with yet another break. In the second, Roger broke Djokovic again for a 3-0 lead but the world no. 1 took 13 of the next 18 games, constantly putting Roger under pressure. In the third set, Djokovic piled up four breaks to eventually seal his victory after 2:05 hours.

Well it's no surprise. I thought this one would be Nadal's. After all he had 3 v.good reasons: to get revenge for last year's losses to Djoko; to win 7 RG titles and take the record from Borg (after all, he must be fed up with Rog totting up all these records!), and to stop Djoko from winning calendar slam. Happy Rafa and well done to him. Now we all turn our eyes towards Wimbledon and wish our champ, full fitness and health and much love, xxxxxxxx

MISS YOU MY SUNSHINE ON THE COURT HOLDING TITLES, MISS YOU RIGHT THERE SO MUCH!!! IT WAS PROBABLY THE MOST BORING RG FINAL THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. I WANTED TO BE DJOKER THE WINNER, BUT NADAL AND HIS THE MOST ANNOYING GAME EVER IN THE HISTORY OF TENNIS...WON, UNFORTUNATELY. LOVE YOU, ALWAYS.

I agree with BOTING. GOAT is not really mentioned in association with Laver. It was a great feat but longevity, consitency and GS wins etc make GOAT. Rafael now has 11 (5 away from Roger) and he s just 26. Would have much rather Nole got his calendar slam. Rogers's class has nothing to do with Rafa s but let's hope he doesn't keep inching his way with his ball bashing ( IMHO boring) tennis.

Good morning French from USA.

What a great news from the French Open final for me. Roger, please keep your eye on No. one hope. You are the only one who knows to reserve your energy to beat them. I am very happy for Nadal. But their game was no fun to watch.

See you on green grass court

Roger: I am freaking tired of GS finals in between Nole and Rafa, they are pipy contests without any flair or class. I really dont want to put any pressure on you but I consider it is time to win lucky number 17th, you are clearly the G.O.A.T and you know you can win more majors, if you keep your focus your tennis is there, Know that you are unbeatable as you were in 2005 and demolish Rafa, Nole and whoever gets in your way.

Waoh! Djoko and Nadal attempting to speak French. But they are no Roger. It's easier for Nadal because of the similarities between French and Spanish. Djoko was fronting ha ha ha!!!!!!!!!!

THE MATCH WAS 2-1 IN FAVOR OF DJOKO YESTERDAY. I WOKE UP WHEN IT WAS 3-2. DID ANYBODY SEE HOW NADAL BROKE DJOKO IN THE BEGINNING OF THE MATCH? GOSH! I MISSED IT. SO THAT MEANS HE BROKE DJOKO THE START OF THE MATCH AND BROKE HIM AGAIN THE LAST GAME OF THE MATCH. GOOD JOB NADAL, I DIDN'T WANT A 5TH SET, IT WOULD HAVE DEMORALIZED HIM.

BOTING, ARE YOU THERE? STUPID dJOKO DOUBLE FAULTED TO HAND NADAL HIS 7TH FRENCH OPEN TITLE AND STOPPED HIM FROM WINNING ALL GS IN A ROW EVEN THOUGH IT IS NOT IN THE SAME CALENDAR YEAR. I AM SO HAPPY NADAL WAS ABLE TO STOP THE RESURGENT DJOKO. THANK YOU NADAL. ROGER IS STILL THE G.O.A.T. NOW DJOKO WILL UNDERSTAND WHY IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR ROGER AND NADAL TO ACHIEVE THAT FEAT. I AM SO HAPPY NADAL WON
