Out against Djokovic

08.06.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 2

Roger suffered a 4-6, 5-7, 3-6 loss against Novak Djokovic in the semi-final of the French Open today.

"I was actually feeling particularly well in the second set, and that one hurts the most to lose," Roger said. "In the third, I don't know, I just wasn't able to put a good game together anymore. You're down two sets to nothing against Novak and it's not the same match anymore. He goes for broke and has no fear and that's about it."

Roger had a good start by breaking Djokovic early in the first set but receiving the re-break in return. Djokovic secured the first set with yet another break. In the second, Roger broke Djokovic again for a 3-0 lead but the world no. 1 took 13 of the next 18 games, constantly putting Roger under pressure. In the third set, Djokovic piled up four breaks to eventually seal his victory after 2:05 hours.

This final without beautiful Roger is pure Dull! The first time ever I'm supporting Rafa...Novak shouldn't win something that our man Roger hasn't.

I think Rafa will do it...he is much more gracious than Novak...but without Roger there is no zing no crackle.

The game needs your flare, talent, attitude and panache Roger.

Please stay happy and fit for Wimbledon and the Games.

Love you

I too hope that Rafa wins for roger's sake,I don't want djoko to get an accolade that Roger hasn't got,he is such a bore to watch and arrogant too.Hope all goes well for you O GREAT ONE in the Gerry Weber and Wimbledon, you are still the man to beat and I don't mean only tennis games, you are a fabulous young man and no one will ever match you.You are well mannered and respectful of your fellow players and you are a delight to watch when you play your game.Take heart, you are still no. one.Stay wel

Sure, if we don't count Rolland Garros points the ranking looks like that:
1. Djoko 11080 points
2. Roger 8590 points
3. Rafa 8060 points

so if Rafa looses the final it'll look like this:
1. Djoko 11080+2000 = 13080 points
2. Roger 8590+720 = 9310 points
3. Rafa 8060+1200 = 9260 points

I watched the final this morning at a very short time and turned the TV off. It was really bored to watch them.

It does not matter who gets the fianl now. Honestly, I understand more why we want Federer on the court all the time -- Fun to watch.

ps.What lost the match for our champ was low 1st serve % which (I think) is linked to how his forehand is firing. Which is why the grass suits him. It is rare (particularly when weather is wet and cold) to fire down aces on clay court. This is true for all players. I still have Nadal for the win. But as with most matches, it is how they are on the day. Whatever, let'em slug it out. Love. and kisses to our champ

*williamalphonso* what is this fixation with UEs? It is important to keep them as low as poss. but when going for winners you're bound to rack them up. Djoko made over 40 up to middle of 3rd set. This match is just down to who can thump it back the hardest. Not tennis in my book, and that's why we all love to watch our champ. That's what happens with slow courts & heavy balls: boring baseline play and increase in injuries, not good. The bashfest continues tomorrow, much good may it do them.

RAMCHARAN you really make me feel relieved. I hope the best for Roger and above all I want to see him happy again and enjoy every match. I am sure Roger will refill his batteries and return on tennis court stronger than ever. It’s such a pleasure to watch him play. He is simply unique. We love you Roger..
