Final in Halle

16.06.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger cruised past Russia's Mikhail Youzhni 6-1, 6-4 today to book a spot in the final in Halle.

Roger was never really in danger, dominating play in the first set. He continued in just the same manner in the second, fighting off three break points, though, to make everything clear after exactly 60 minutes on his fourth match ball.

Roger will play his 105th final tomorrow. He will either meet Philipp Kohlschreiber, who defeated Rafael Nadal in the quarters, or Tommy Haas, who won against Tomas Berdych.

Hello Roger
Congratulations on a wonderful week of your sublime tennis even though you had a cold and the weather did not appear too warm.
Bad luck that you did not win tonight BUT as Margaret [hughsie ]has written Tommy Haas is a very good player and has played well this week .
You have had a good pre wimbledon preparation, nil problems.
We are planning to go to Wimbledon--you will do well, very well.

Very good comment ADI1008 ! I think that is time for Roger to call dr. Fuentes. We all now that Djokovic and Nadal are using drugs. That is so obvious.

It has no sense for commenting this anymore. He lost, so what ? I lost also couple days ago, so what ? I can lose my job soon, will someone find it for me ? Of course not. He played bad, maybe he will not win any tornament, so what ? Tennis is just a game, we must face reality every day, and the reality is that tomorrow I must get up in the 6 in the morning and go to work to earn 700 EUR a month to survive.

So sorry you lost this one, Roger, but no matter, can't win everything and Tommy was in the Zone today. An exciting match, elegant grass play from both of you and no ugly 2hbh. Some exciting earlier matches and your superbly patient and intelligent win over Raonic's nuclear warheads stays in my mind most of all. Tommy played very well and must have delighted his home audience with this win so congratulations to him. Of the top 4, only you this week have made it to a final! Your week, I think!!

ultrastark...don't be so sure. With that style, I thought he will quit after 25, but ...let me remaind you that Dr. Fuentes made some miracles in sport.

And I don't think Nadal will be playing at almost 31. Not with his style...
