Roger loses Halle final

17.06.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 3

Roger lost today's final in Halle against Tommy Haas 6-7(5), 4-6.

"I'm very impressed with how he played today," Roger said. "Tommy deserved to win."

Roger started perfectly well, securing an early break and even heading for a double-break. But then suddenly things changed and our champ had to fight off first set-points at 4-5. In the tie-breaker, Roger fell behind again and Haas eventually took it with a two-point lead after 50 minutes of play.
In the second set Roger's serve was broken at 4-4, giving Haas the possibility to serve out the match - which he then did.

Roger only previous final loss in Halle was in 2010, when he lost to Lleyton Hewitt.

I am truly sorry, I do not know what is happening.

In the last 3 months seems to have lost the enamel physical beginning of the year. I'm sorry but if it is in London so I see a bad Slam for you. I'm reliving the shadow of what happened to Sampras. Hopefully it is not. Good luck with your estimator.

*dgloves...* Very true and considering Nadal really did have an easy draw at RG and only played one extra (albeit over 2 days) match, our champ still found enough energy to get to the finals which is more than can be said for the others. You fan/critics, WHAT is your problem. We can only guess at the mental/physical energy drained from the body after a grand slam. Please give our champ a break. love, hugs and kisses to a wonderful man, xxxxx

There is one (small) sign of consolation you can take with this defeat - you were the only one of the top four who made it to the final of either Halle or Queen's. Neither Murray nor Nadal could do what you did. Keep focused on Wimbledon - we are all rooting for you to equal Sampras's record and to win gold in singles at the Olympics. It can be done. Good luck Roger!

I'm still very concerned about your back Rog; you seemed to go down with quite a bang. I wish one of your website team would set our minds at rest on that. You seemed to be OK afterwards, but still. I hope you will feel fully well and fully fit for Wimbledon. I shall be cheering for you alongside all your thousands of fans, love always to the champion, xxxxx

This planet is full of idiots. What to say but this on a comment of Prajji_Neo. What did you wanted to say by it ?What is the point, but to show what an idiot you are ? Do you suggest that Roger must kill himself because he lost the match ? I am suggesting that you visit the psychiatrist as soon as possible while it is not late. You may still have a chance to save yourself from your stupidity.

Hi Roger - we are dissapointed once again,i think you are tired of playing tennis, pls do lot of meditation before starting wimbledon - pls understand that you are playing ur natural/stylish game till semis only, when u enter finals u r mentally struck against djokovic/nadal- why? u have set ur mind that u cannot win them - it's not like that - only thing u have to do is pls understand the opponents strength/serve speed/ attack them pyschologically - don't worry we are with you roger
