Roger loses Halle final
17.06.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 3
Roger lost today's final in Halle against Tommy Haas 6-7(5), 4-6.
"I'm very impressed with how he played today," Roger said. "Tommy deserved to win."
Roger started perfectly well, securing an early break and even heading for a double-break. But then suddenly things changed and our champ had to fight off first set-points at 4-5. In the tie-breaker, Roger fell behind again and Haas eventually took it with a two-point lead after 50 minutes of play.
In the second set Roger's serve was broken at 4-4, giving Haas the possibility to serve out the match - which he then did.
Roger only previous final loss in Halle was in 2010, when he lost to Lleyton Hewitt.

And after he broke back in that 1st set he seemed to be the better player. Being the excellent and very talented player he is, having nothing to lose made him even more dangerous. I am sorry you lost, but I believe that you had a good week of tennis on grass in a very quiet and friendly athmosphere, just as you like it. Watching you joking with the cameraman by blinding him with the dish and the sun showed me that you are OK for Wimbledon. Good luck in London!

After some of the posts have been misteriously deleted I just want to say that I enjoyed two days of excellent tennis in Halle, watching all the QF's and SF's on Friday and Saturday. Both you and Tommy Haas were playing very well and that final was always going to be a tough one for you. Tommy had nothing to lose and once you let him back into the 1st set there seemed to be no way of stopping him. His excellent returns and groundstrokes put more pressure on your servicegames.

Well, Tommy really got it done this time. Hope you are happy for your friend, even though it's a bit of a pity you weren't able to get this win. Big victory for him.
Here's the thing, of the 3 grass court events this year, if you're going to lose any event, then this is the one to lose. Hopefully the next two will be the ones you win.
Maybe you can go to Halle next year and get the trophy back!
A bit of rest, then to Wimbledon.
Wishing you all the best, as always ~ Cheers
you can do it!
always,
