Wimbledon: the draw

22.06.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 1

The draw for Wimbledon ist out: Roger will meet Novak Djokovic in the semis this year, should both players make it that far.

Roger will start his quest for a seventh Wimbledon title (Pete Sampras' current record) against Albert Ramos (ATP 43). It is the first time for the Spaniard to play in the main draw of Wimbledon. Roger could then meet Fabio Fognini (ATP 64) or Michael Llodra (ATP 52) before a match against Julien Benneteau (ATP 31) is possible.

I think this is a golden opportunity, you have the easiest draw. To meet janko in the quarters is an easy task. But i also believe that you have to play the tennis you used to play three or four years ago in order to win this title. Take care champ. The grass is yours. Practice hard and shall god be with you.

HUGHSIE, thanks for sharing. Yea, Chris Evert is a big Roger fan. In one of the slams she co-anchored (I think it was the last AO), she admitted she cries when Roger loses.

A lovely comment in todays The Weekend Australian newspaper from none other than Chris Evert whose career encompassed 18 grand slam singles titles --therefore, knows a little about tennis?
I quote from the article 'If she were forced to pay for a ticket, which woman would she choose to watch?
"Roger Federer," Evert says. Ah,but if it has to be a woman? ""Roger Federer. He is the ONLY one I'd pay to watch. I COULD watch him ALL day"
I think that many would agree with her!

A 7th Wimby, a 17th grand slam and regaining the number 1 spot. What a day that would be !! There is enough to motivate anyone there. All peRFectly ligned up!
Win or lose I am cheering you on Roger. Wishing you much luck, stamina, energy, insperation and focus ! Go on Roger, Allezzz
