Roger survives massive |scare
Roger defeated France's Julien Benneteau in a thrilling match 4-6, 6-7(3), 6-2, 7-6(6) and 6-1 today and thus making his way into the second week at Wimbledon.
After dropping the opening set, Roger was not able to make use of three set points in set number two, eventually losing the tie-break clearly. But he then started to find his way into the match a lot better, taking the third set with ease. The fourth set, again, went into a tiebreaker, where our champ won the first point. Both players traded points from there until they reached 6-6 for Benneteau to then hit a return long - and Roger finally closing out the set.
Benneteau seemed too exhausted in the final set, receiving treatment on his legs twice. Roger, on the other hand, showed some more terrific tennis to continue his journey for a seventh Wimbledon title.
