7th title in Wimbledon

08.07.2012 | Tennis, Starseite 3

Roger won today’s Wimbledon final against Andy Murray 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4, capturing his 17th Grand Slam title and regaining the no. 1 spot in the world ranking!

"This is a magic moment for me." Roger said after the match, holding the trophy. "I couldn't be any happier. I had a tough time in the last years. This victory is just coming at the right time."

Roger equalled Pete Sampras' record at the All England Club with a seventh Wimbledon title. He also equalled another Sampras-record by regaining world no. 1 tomorrow: 286 weeks on top of the ATP world ranking. "This is unbelievable: Sampras is my hero", said Roger.

Murray had a better start and broke Roger in the first game of the first set. Roger made a lot of unforced errors and seemed a bit nervous. The second set was much more even. After the players returned from a rain interruption, Roger was unstoppable and converted his second match-ball after 3:24 hours of play.

I'm a tennis fan and I been waching tennis for the last thirty years.
When I read other fans negative comments about your gratness I ask my self why tennis pros like McEnroe and meny other player they all agree that with out any doubt you are simple the best and most talented player ever to pick a tennis raquet I ask my self , are we the fans know better of the tennis pros.
But don't you worry Roger numbers and records don't lie.

Roger. I am so thrilled and ecstatic for you!! I don't know how or why but you have an amazing ability, not just in playing tennis, to make people cheer and pull and cry for you. All this despite the fact that you've been so successful already!

Dearest Roger, words cannot express how joyful I am at your fabulous victory! It was fate, destiny, written in the stars- that this was your time again! You could not be denied your rightful place at the top of the men's game. And finally we watched a final that was exciting and wonderful without those two boring chaps Novak and Rafa! Congratulations dear Roger, and in a few weeks time the gold medal will also be yours, I wish you much success and happiness during the Olympics! Lizzie xxxx
