Roger won his eighth straight match over Ivan Ljubicic 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 and has moved to 11-3 over the Croatian. He finished the group stage with a perfect 3-0 record, completing his fifth edition of round-robin play at a season wrapup event without a loss, improving his record in group competition to 15-0.

 

"I only knew five minutes before the match that I had qualified," said Roger. "Maybe that's why I got broken in the first game. It took some time to realise that I was out there again playing.

 

"But I really wanted to keep my fantastic streak alive. I'm happy I came through. It gives me confidence for the semis."

 

Roger and David Nalbandian will meet the first two players of the other group. James Blake has already booked his ticket with two victories; Rafael Nadal und Nikolaj Dawydenko are still fighting for their place.

OK, you´re playing nadal. Don´t need to worry: play agressive and keep the backhand working like in the 3 previous matches. Just remember: you´re number one and better than him.

You said you wanted another crack at Nadal ... and now you have it. I think he's got better with each match - and its up to you to bring your consistent (key word!) A game to the court coupled with A+ mental belief that you will beat him - not "can beat"
