In round three with ease

Roger cruised into round three at the Olympics with a very clear 6-2, 6-2 victory over France's Julien Benneteau today.

Roger played much better today compared to his opening match at the London Olympics. He struggled with his first service game but found his rhythm right away to break Benneteau. After that, Roger was unstoppable. Securing a break to take a 3-1 lead in the second set openend the road to then seal the deal after just under an hour.

Roger will now either play Luxembourg’s Gilles Muller (ATP 56) or Uzbekistan’s Denis Istomin (ATP 34).

Later this evening, Roger and Stanislas Wawrinka will play Japan's Kei Nishikori and Go Soeda in the doubles tournament.

Congratulations Fedwrinka, lovely job. Would love to see you get the doubles gold again. First though, the singles gold for Roger. You can do it Roger, this is your year!

Oh. My. God. In the last game that match (I mean doubles with Stan) felt almost like a final for some reason ^^ So happy to see you and Stan winning a tough match after a great fight. Good Luck tomorrow!

I was so lucky to find the site atdhe and watched both your single and double matches! So great to see you won so well. The doubles matches was against my dear countrymen. But I am so happy you won. If it is not your team I shall be unhappy. But because it is your team, I feel ok. But kudos to Nishikori /Soeda. They also did well. Congratulations Federer san.
